Transparent

from Half Empty by Robin Tymm

/

lyrics

How did this happen to be?
It’s become quite apparent that I’m too transparent to see
The people that knew me these days look right through me

I’m the invisible man
Lacking in substance and not worth a second glance
Don’t you spare me a thought, I am paler than water

CHORUS
Because I don’t talk much
Don’t mean I’ve got nothing to say
I look from the outside
And hope to be inside someday

If my life were a film or a play
I’d be cast as an extra, a background artiste as they say
Well aware from the start it’s a non-speaking part anyway

I’m not at the centre of things
I’ve been pushed to one side and derided by paupers and kings
I was hid at the bottom, unloved and forgot for my sins

CHORUS
Because I don’t talk much
Don’t mean I’ve got nothing to say
I look from the outside
And hope to be inside someday

BRIDGE
As clear as a window
The sun casts no shadow of me on the ground
No mirror’s reflection
I’m falling unwatched without making a sound

CHORUS
Because I don’t talk much
Don’t mean I’ve got nothing to say
I look from the outside
And I hope and I pray
That I’ll be inside someday
